Liquid Gold

     The third installment of poems based off of Shawndell St John’s paintings. Hope you will move towards an act of worship. Thank you!

Heart poured out

Liquid Gold

Liquid Gold

My prayerful paradigm predominates the air
For my worries drain from worshipful tears,
While prostrate before the throne
My heart plays the music of the spheres
And turns back the clock
As I stand before the Rock.

               Drip…
                    Drip…
                         Spaloosh…

                    Drip…
                         Drip…
                              Spaloosh…

Oh, how the Christ took the nails,
In humble obedience to the Father
For you, me and all the world;
The friend closer than a brother,
Who through worship poured His heart
Onto the Lion’s Table, a la carte.

               Drip…
                    Drip…
                         Spaloosh…

                    Drip…
                         Drip…
                              Spaloosh…

The price, death, the payment, life;
Where one dies for all,
Yet frees the captives in a single breath
And the veil tears by a squall;
Yes, the Son took the wrath
To open up Redemption’s path.

               Drip…
                    Drip…
                         Spaloosh…

                    Drip…
                         Drip…
                              Spaloosh…

My prayerful paradigm predominates the air,
As I bow down before the One
To pour my heart into worship,
A purple garland now spun–
Our hearts in worship, so bold,
Poured out, worth more than liquid gold.
